Official CLI released

2024-06-26

It’s been a popular request for quite some time. Today we’ve released the first version of our command line interface (CLI).

The program is open source and official binaries are available for Linux, macOS, Windows, NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Solaris.

What’s the role of a good CLI these days when API and web UI clients are readily available and allow infinite customization and lots of pretty effects?

A good CLI allows for ad-hoc tasks to be performed with minimal effort and resource requirements and has built-in help and usage information. The Linux (amd64) binary release weighs in at only 7 MB and can be started in just a couple milliseconds, performing day-to-day tasks with a minimum of fuss and overhead.

There are some command examples on the GitHub page to provide an idea of what can be done. All of our products are supported via the CLI.

Contributions are welcome. Have an idea or found a bug? Create an issue or a PR, let us know your thoughts!
